
Abstract
The English illustrator, James Gillray (1756-1815), was the leading force in what has become known as the golden age of English
caricature, approximately 1770 to 1820. Gillray chronicled and ridiculed the politicians and ruling class of his day, in spectacularly
colored prints. This graphic arts collection includes nearly 313 prints, all given by Dickson Q. Brown, class of 1895.
